The Rejuvenation of Little Red Ted - Part 2

Despite the hiatus in my blogging activity, caused by all the instructions about getting this blog "OUT" - still a work in progress - the future of Little Red Ted is settled back with Mrs. P (very satisfactorily), and the construction of Big Red Ted has also now been completed.  News on the latter front will form part of another blog.

To return to the rejuvenation of the little fellow:  having stitched up the "treated" pattern pieces, the stuffing began.  All limbs were done separately and attached to the body.  Initially, I had intended to allow Little Red Ted's head to move around:  alas, the space within the body piece was too tight to allow my arthritic fingers to attach the head safely - it kept coming apart when I was trying to stuff the body, so in the end I decided to attach the head so it did not move.  (After all, it was how he had arrived in my custody!)  While the limbs looked fine before I began to stuff the body, it became obvious that neither Little Red Ted's ears or eyes were in the right places.

So, I re-did the whole head and the result was much more acceptable.  Cy was very concerned until the new version was produced.

The paw pads are the only pieces of Little Red Ted's original body that I decided to leave on show and, I was told when I delivered him back to Mrs. P yesterday afternoon, they were taken from a pair of chamoix leather gloves that she used to wear during evening events!

Then, the production of Big Red Ted began - I'll describe this process tomorrow, including a few words about the reception Mrs. P gave to both toys.
